  • New editor of the IKF magazine Korfball International and IKF Media Officer

    The IKF is pleased to announce the appointment of Michel van Swieten to the joint role of editor of the IKF magazine Korfball International and IKF Media Officer, with immediate effect.

    Michel lives in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and has played korfball for many years. From the age of 16 he has reported on korfball for different magazines and newspapers in The Netherlands. For the past couple of years he was editor in chief of the Royal Dutch Korfball Association (KNKV)’s magazine Korfball! He has also worked extensively with electronic media.

  • U16 Talent World Cup Schijndel 2010

    Nine countries have entered the U16 Talent World Cup 2010 in Schijndel (NED).


    This international korfball tournament for players under 16 will be held in the sports centre “Dioscuren” Schijndel from 20 – 21 March 2010 and is patronized by the International Korfball Federation (IKF). The local korfball club “De Boemerang” will assist the KNKV South District with the organisation of this event.

  • Korfball tour in Malaysia

    Dr.Inglish Ying-Che Huang (IKF Regional Vice President for Asia) and  Mrs. Bird Fang-Yi Hsieh (AOKF Secretary General) visited Malaysia in the period from 25 January 2010 to 28 January 2010.


    During this fruitful tour where over 1000 kilometres were travelled in 3 days, the instructors visited two schools and various other institutions including an association, a college, an orphanage, a ball factory, a steel factory and initiated discussions with various sport leaders about the possibilitiies of further developing korfball in the region.

  • 15th U19 Junior World Cup 1-4 April 2010

    Thirteen (13) countries from three (3) continents have entered the 15th U19 Junior World Cup 2010 which will be played in Leek (NED). This semi-official international korfball tournament for players under 19 is held in the Sports Centre Leek from 1 – 4 April 2010 and is patronised by the International Korfball Federation (IKF).

  • Korean national players team visited Chinese Taipei

    From 30 January to 4 February 2010, eight (8) male and eight (8) female Korean korfball players participated in a training camp at the National Taipei University of Education (NTUE) in Chinese Taipei.

    This event was made possible with the support of the Chinese Taipei Korfball Association.

    The IKF's youngest korfball member Belarus is working very hard to ensure the future of korfball by conducting a national school korfball championship.

  • Netherlands wins Euro Top4

    The Netherlands beat Belgium by 20-15 today in the final of the Euro Top4 Invitational Tournament in Eindhoven (NED).

  • Chinese Taipei U23 beats Netherlands in World Cup

    A full-strength Dutch U21 team lost in a thriller match - decided after a Golden Goal - to the Chinese Taipei U23 team, without Ricky Wu, in the final of the 19th Monuta U23 World Cup in Apeldoorn (NED). It has been the first time in history the Dutch U21 team has lost a match to a different team than Belgium. Dutch coach Wim Scholtmeyer was very disappointed after the result and KNKV will know they have homework to do toward next year's IKF U21 European Championship to be held in Milton Keynes (ENG)

  • New book on korfball published

    Recently a new book on korfball is published by the Taiwan National Institute of Educational Resources and Research. The author is the IKF Regional Vice President for Asia, Dr. Inglish Y. C. HUANG.

    The title of the book is: ” Teaching Methods, Materials, and Assessment in Physical Education: Korfball”.
