KNKV

The “Koninklijke Nederlande Korfbal Verbond” or KNKV is the governing body for korfball in The Netherlands.

The KNKV is formed after a merger between the Christian Korfball Association (CKB) and the Dutch Korfball Association (NKB). The first korfball association was formed in 1904 in order to increase interest in the sport of korfball and to increase cooperation between the clubs. At first there was little or no interest in bringing korfball abroad, this changed however in 1932 when the Federation International de Korfball was established.

The current executive council is made out

  • mr Andringa (Chief executive officer)

  • mr Uhlenbush (Executive officer)

  • mr Rodenburg (Top sport officer)

  • mrs Liebrand (Marketing and communications officer)

  • mr Visser (Internal services officer)

On top of the executive council the KNKV has a board of directors that operates on a mandate of the annual members assembly.

Currently the KNKV has 98.000 – 102.000 members. When looking at the trend, the membership numbers are slightly increasing.
